The MPC-HC multimedia player for Windows is one of the best options when it comes to playing any type of video or music file on a PC, thanks to its enormous compatibility of supported formats, flexibility of use, great image and sound quality with direct output options to AV receivers and above all because of the low consumption of resources it needs.

The latest official versions available dated from 2015, but different unofficial updates have been published that are correcting small errors and especially updating the codecs, as is the case of the last one to be made public this week that reaches version 1.9 .14 and arrives with minor cosmetic changes but several internal improvements.

For example, the preview function in the playback bar has been improved in a similar way to how we can do in streaming sites such as YouTube, with a somewhat less crude appearance than in previous versions and with the option to vary the size of said bar to reduce your height.

The latest audio and video filters (the LAV Filters) available have been incorporated (version 0.75.1), file loading has been improved making more complex videos take less time to play, support for the playback of DVDs and added option to load external SSA / ASS subtitles.

Support for new codecs such as AO Media AV1 has also been improved and compatibility with youtube-dl has been maintained and improved to view YouTube videos directly from the player with the option of downloading them for later offline viewing.

Of course, the shader filters with which to improve image quality through digital processing continue to work, and from what I have been able to prove it seems that they consume a little less resources in this latest version.
